It’s hard to believe I had done what I told myself from the beginning I would not do – I have neglected posting to this blog. Part of it has to do with a difficult family situation I had to face, but that of course, as most things in life, is an excuse. Good thing is that despite everything that was going on I continued to shoot and have recently started a small project, which I am super excited to share with you guys. But first, GALAPAGOS! . . .
Galapagos compromises a lot larger of a region than I initially thought. The route we took was the East to West route. We visited the following islands:
- North Seymour
- Rabida
- Bartolome
- Isabela
- San Cristobal
The clouds have finally cleared. I took one hopeful look at the crisp blue sky and pleaded with the universe to let this happen. Since the past two days, we’ve hit steady rain and it was starting to look less and less promising that we’d actually get to visit and photograph the largest natural “mirror” in the world. We didn’t come here only for this experience, but I would lie if I’d say that it wasn’t on top of our travel list. . . .
I never thought I’d be visiting Chile this year. The country was somewhere on my list of desired travel destinations, but nowhere near its top. Yes, Jim and I had talked about Patagonia in the past and I knew that geographically speaking, this was one of the most beautiful places in South America to visit. But I didn’t prioritize it that much. . . .
It’s Sunday afternoon. Hello again my dear blog visitors. I appreciate you stopping over and giving my writing some of your super precious time. I just want to say, I love Sunday afternoons. I usually work on the weekend, but when I happen to be off, I cherish that time greatly. To me Sunday afternoons carry a bit of nostalgia with them. . . .
Someone once said, “The desert is the theater of the human struggle of searching for God.” Religious or not, I think we can safely say that being in that vast expanse of uninhabited, mostly empty land touches upon something much deeper in our core being. I have always felt a strong affinity for the desert. I have always felt that it calls to me. . . .
