By the Syrian Border…

I have waited way too long to share this post with you and I am not really sure why. Part of it was the hectic days that followed my trip to Lebanon, an almost immediate departure on our trip to Nicaragua, followed by hurricane Irma and then the post-hurricane mayhem at work in the ED. But in the end it all boils down to the fact that I’ve avoided sitting my butt down and actually writing what I’ve been wanting to write and sharing the images I’ve been wanting to share. Blame it on my laziness…

Photographer’s Manifesto

I have been thinking a lot recently about how social media affects photography and influences certain style. There are specific trends on Instagram for example that keep cropping up consistently and I feel as if there is tremendous pressure to follow them. What if the photography that you choose to shoot is different than mainstream? What if what you like to create does not fit into any category or cannot be neatly placed into a box with a specific label on it? Does that mean you should not share your work? Galapagos Part II

Galapagos compromises a lot larger of a region than I initially thought. The route we took was the East to West route. New post (finally!) and Galapagos Part I

It’s hard to believe I had done what I told myself from the beginning I would not do – I have neglected posting to this blog. Part of it has to do with a difficult family situation I had to face, but that of course, as most things in life, is an excuse. Good thing is that despite everything that was going on I continued to shoot and have recently started a small project, which I am super excited to share with you guys. But first, GALAPAGOS! Thanks to my wonderful boyfriend, I was recently able to fulfill one of…

On photographing people (Part II)

Since I have actually acquired quite a number of people portraits over the years, I wanted to share some more with everyone on this blog. I noted that my previous entry was received very well and I cannot be more excited about that. You guys have given me more motivation to continue shooting travel portraits and people in general and as we are nearing the end of the current year, I have started writing down some travel goals for 2017. I’m secretly hoping to return to Nicaragua to shoot some additional photos for Empowerment International, I want to do…
