October Reflections

This year is slowly creeping to an end and I can hardly believe it. I am already going through 2017 in my head and summarizing its experiences. The last few months had been filled with excitement and adventures for me, but now I am slowing down and spending more time at home and with my family. Not to say that I am not going out and shooting pictures or immersing myself in photography here locally, but I don’t think I’ll be able to travel much more until next year. I’m sure my loved ones and my puppies will be very happy to have me around at home a little more than usual.

I did, however, get to experience and shoot some fall color this month. I just got back from spending five days in upstate New York and even though the weather was unusually warm at this time of the year, I did get to capture some autumn scenery. My little Franio came with me and he had an absolute blast hiking the trails around lakes and rivers we visited. He is always the best subject to put in my images 🙂

I love fall and all the melancholy that comes with it. It is just about the only seasonal thing I miss living in Florida. October must be the best month in the northern hemisphere. We’re having our first cool day here today in Delray Beach, but I don’t think anything beats those reds and yellows of changing leaves…

I also wanted to let you know that I’m also committing to writing one blog post per week from now on. Such commitment can be a real challenge for me at times, but I want to reach out more and share more of my personal work in this digital space. I would like to get to know my readers and followers more deeply and form new connections focused on the love of photography and the love of travel. What would you like to see here more often? What sort of questions do you have for me? What trips would you like to see me go on or what type of photos would you like to see here? I really hope to hear from all of you more often 🙂
